Material Misconception
“The one thing needful is the growth of the soul; all other things are secondary and subordinate. The supreme business of man is to find the Divine.” — Sri Aurobindo - Essays in Philosophy and Yoga

Material Misconception
Mistaken identity,
The natural way,
Bewildered immersion,
In this physical play.
–
Trauma and heartache,
Repression and resolve,
An escape from karma,
Thick skinned and armored.
–
Boldly building,
A life on this known plane,
Manifesting success,
A risk taking extroverted shell,
Covering deep seeded buried pain.
–
Still an innate sense,
Right and wrong clear,
Beatitudes of justice,
An unknown compass,
Guiding my way.
–
But for a twist of fate,
A guided visit to Siddhartha‘s home,
A genuine call for help,
This wayward soul roams.
–
A blast of lightning,
Unfolding the path,
Destiny springs forth,
Cracking open this heart of stone.
–
Deep searching and digging,
In the darkness, alone,
Facing demons and energies,
Not my own.
–
Discovering the light,
Divinity within,
Surrendering to God,
Forgiving and letting go,
All the ego once held dear.
–
Realization of reality,
In discipline and dedication,
Ending the nightmares,
Bringing peace and serenity.
–
Blessed in gratitude,
This life devine,
Telling my story,
This unfragmented soul,
Sitting in truth and joyful silence.
–
My unseeing eye,
Graced with knowing,
Now, helping others,
See through their material misconception.
