Devotional Choice: Free Will
Devotional Choice: Free Will
Posh Beverly Hills dinner,
Passing hors d’oeuvres, someone asked,
Does free will exist,
Wearing their mask .
-
Much lively debate,
Ensued around the table,
Various opinions,
All willing and able,
-
Discussions of motivation,
Goals and objectives ,
Led to habits tiny and large,
From this successful crowd.
-
Yet everyone agrees ,
Most of our mind,
Unconscious and asleep ,
Making changes so unkind .
-
Realizing truth ,
My own insight and others,
Changing what lies beneath ,
Heart of the matter .
-
Decisions we make , time we spend,
Entertainment and fun, vocations pursued,
cocktails, shopping, gossip and fights,
Without our phones what will we do?
-
Perhaps unaware, my sophisticated friends,
James Allen so right,
What a woman thinketh,
she becomes.
-
Gita’s timeless clarity unmatched ,
Mediation and service,
Understanding and devotion,
Pathways to reach closeness to source .
-
Free will exists only,
As inputs to inner self ,
Our true option rejoice,
For devotional choice.
