Beyond Forgiveness
“The eye with which I see God is the same eye with which God sees me.” - Meister Eckhart 1260-1328
Crisp early light,
Stars shining stillness,
Reflections gaze,
Understandings dawn.
-
Sereenly observing,
My tumultuous journey’s dance,
The twists, surprises and challenges,
Suffering the river of my resistance.
-
Floating softly through now,
No longer seeking,
Ending mentations control,
Devotional release brings humility’s deep bow.
-
It was a blessed discovery,
Pardon’s key unlocking,
Amnesty’s sweet acceptance,
Allowing freedom’s beautiful flight.
-
Yet compassion’s divine grace,
Gives way to progressive breakthroughs I face,
The eye that sees God,
Stares back at me.
-
So what pray tell did you have in mind?
A lesson to learn, a hill to climb,
Or rather rediscovering Love, after,
A study in contrast, feeling the depths of despair,
Up to this visceral bliss.
-
These souls agreed to these parts,
Playing their role in humanity’s timeline,
Signed up to be perpetrator, abuser or culprit,
Or was it wounded oppressed prey,
To find a hero’s journey resilient and triumphant.
-
My gratitude swells,
As the context expands,
Christ consciousness my witness,
Moves me beyond forgiveness.
